Press Release 3

2010 Summary of Forest Health Conditions in British Columbia

The 2010 Summary of Forest Health Conditions in British Columbia was compiled from provincial aerial overview survey data, insect population predictions, ground reports on forest health agents not aerially detectable and special projects information.

This report has been published annually since 2001, and HR GISolutions Inc. has had the honor and privilege of creating the overview and presentation maps since day one. HR GISolutions has also been providing the Ministry of Forests and Range Forest Health Overview Data annually since 1999. This involves conversion and integration of regional datasets into a seamless standardized spatial tile to Ministry specifications. All data is rationalized to standard Forest District Boundaries for reporting data on a District by District basis. PDF and Adobe Illustrator documents are created for display purposes, Excel spreadsheets are generated for reporting purposes, and shape files and MS Access files are generated for analysis and Web based mapping applications.
